Having some Danish withdrawal today... Had such a friggin’ metal time at @tonderfestival last week! Saw some old friends, made some new ones, and spread a few more measures of joyful noise into the universe.
Good times indeed. —

I mean, that’s a good looking shipping container, right? Love you @tonderfestival
It’s been a blast, thanks to the brave festival goers and to the wonderful staff and volunteers. @edmfolkfest has been a riot. ‘Til next time!
Spotted on a workshop stage near you...
Warning: This picture is supremely unimpressive in terms of aesthetic value, but is very potentially useful if you are all of the following: in Edmonton, planning on attending the Edmonton Folk Festival, interested in hearing us make noise with instruments and our stupid faces. For those of you whom this applies to, consider it a functional public service announcement. For all others, as you were (and have a super nice day).
Doing our best @vulfpeck #fearlessflyers impression. We were improvising the moonwalk. It’s a gift. @arielposen @joeylandreth 🎥: @jonfosterdrummer .

Behold, @ryanrhnov (Ryan "Rhino" Voth for the uninitiated), in all his glory. He's one of my favourite people in the universe and he had a birthday today. Trust me, you would have a hard time believing some of the wild shit that we've gotten ourselves into over the years. We've done some serious (and some severely not so serious) living together. Rhino has been my longest standing wing-man and I have learned so much about what it is to be a good human by watching him bounce his way through the world. Rhino is always the heartbeat. He's the foundation on the band stand - everybody can trust him to have that downbeat and make it feel GOOD, but he's that constant foundation elsewhere too. If you're lucky enough to count him as a friend, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. He's there for you - he shows up, not sometimes, but every time. He's got that backbeat, he knows where the one is. He moves through the world with an unfaltering integrity and he's got a sense of virtue that goes as deep as that groove - believe me. I admire this man - he never takes the easy route. He seeks the virtuous path, even if it's hard, even if it might sting a little. He's solid like that, he knows where the right way is. He knows what good looks like. He knows where the kindness is. I love this man, because he cares so damn much and because his heart is wide and open. Rhino, we're all better off because you exist. Here's to more birthdays and a whole pile more adventures...
Throwback, way back, all the way back to a few weeks ago when this bunch of hooligans stepped on stage to play with a whrole friggin' symphony. Still makes us giddy to think about... —

This beautiful human being has a birthday today and so we acknowledge another 365.2422 revolutions around the earth’s axis, one full trip around the sun, who spins tirelessly about in the galaxy, which (check with @neil.tyson on this one) probably pirouettes gracefully through the universe. Speaking of objects pirouetting gracefully through the universe - so does my little brother Joe. Who, coincidentally has become much more of a big brother to me over the past few years. He is the epitome of class and compassion and anyone who has had the pleasure of his company, for even a few moments, understands this. He’s the rare breed who can look you in the eye and make you feel considered and worthy. He’s an open hearted man and a maker of beautiful things. He’s kind and sensitive and strives to always be the best version of himself; even when it means uncomfortable growth or putting himself way left of his comfort zone. He’s taught me the importance of integrity. He has shown me through his own vulnerability, how to lean on the ones you love and what real support feels like. He’s funny and quirky as hell and he’s my best friend. Happy birthday @joeylandreth —
Had a great conversation with the folks at Range Finder. Talked about the process of preparing for our first symphony show and what it feels like to get ready to step on stage with 67 other musicians!! Link is in the bio...
Just posted a live version of a new song with strings from the @wpgsymphony — link is in the bio!
